When you start to shop for your first pushchair one question that we always ask is what kind of lifestyle do you have because finding a stroller that is perfect for you will ultimately make the transition into parent-hood that little bit easier. To go hand in hand with this, finding a stroller that fits into your car will allow you and your little one to travel stress free knowing you can easily get from A to B without a single hitch!
One car we’re asked about a lot is the Audi A1 and although we have come to know that certain prams will fit into the boot of this car, we wanted to help all you mums and dads out there and create a list to help you in choosing your pushchair.
At this point, we must say that this is not an exhaustive list of all strollers, but we chose 12 of our favourites and tested them in the boot of an Audi A1 to give you a good starting point on the search for your pram.
The Bugaboo Fox is one of our favourite pushchairs and we’re so pleased to report that it’s a great fit into the Audi A1 with the back wheels removed! The parcel shelf could be removed if you need a little more space and getting the Fox back out of the car was quick and simple to do!
If you’re looking for a stylish, practical and sturdy pushchair then the iCandy Peach could be the one for you. This stroller does fit into the boot with the parcel shelf removed and the seat unit placed on top of the frame. With the shelf removed the peach is a good fit and there is a little bit of space at the sides of your pushchair for essentials.
Silver Cross Pioneer
One of our best-selling pushchairs has to be the Silver Cross Pioneer, so we’re really pleased that it fits in the boot of the Audi A1! Even with the wheels removed, the Pioneer was one of the tighter fits that we managed and as you can see from the picture, there isn’t a great deal of boot space left.
Mamas & Papas Flip XT3
The Mamas & Papas Flip XT3 was by far the best fit in the Audi A1. Folding like a dream with the seat unit still attached, the Flip XT3 can be put into the boot with all the wheels attached and you even have lots of space left over too!
Mamas & Papas Ocarro
Just like the Flip XT3, the Ocarro was also a great fit into the Audi A1 but as the back wheels are a little bigger, these do need to be removed. The Ocarro folds with the seat unit attached and as you can see in the picture, the pram is super compact!
Super easy to put into the car, we loved the fit of the iCandy Lime! The wheels do need to be removed but the seat unit lays really flat which leaves quite a lot of space on top of your pushchair. The lime can also be folded with the seat unit attached to offer a more compact fold!
Folding with the seat unit on, the Joolz Hub is a great fit into the Audi A1 and you can leave all of the wheels still attached too! As you can see from the picture, there is a lot of space to the right on the Hub for storage too!
Cybex Priam Wheels off seat attached
Next up is the Cybex Priam which folds with the seat unit attached offering a really compact fold. The wheels do need to be removed to fit this pram into the boot but you are left with a little space to the right for some essentials!
The Oyster 3 is a favourite for lots of people and will easily fit into the Audi A1 by just removing one of the back wheels! The Oyster 3 folds with the seat unit attached offering a compact fold and this also makes it super easy for unfolding too!
Just like the Oyster3, the Egg also will fit into the Audi with just one wheel removed. The seat unit sits nicely on top of the frame and if you did want to remove your parcel shelf, it would offer more space for extras!
Once the back wheels were removed, the Vista fit into the Audi A1 really well and as the seat unit is quite flat, you can see there is still a little space in the boot for any essentials!
So there you have it, 11 amazing pushchairs that are sure to give you a good starting point to find your perfect stroller! As mentioned at the beginning of this post we did actually try 12 altogether including the Stokke Xplory and unfortunately, we were not able to fit these strollers into an Audi A1.
